About Me
: )
3/20/12: I mailed my 1st handmade cards to WUAH wishers on 3/20/09. Heard about WUAH when Dave Girgenti was profiled as Person of the Week (ABC News, 3/13/09) & Web site was spotlighted. ALWAYS loved playing with paper, scissors, etc. Always liked mail. Great combination opportunity! Feel there is an intrinsic message of caring in the act of making a card that speaks more than words alone. Happy mail is an appreciated commodity.
As of today, I have offered on 5684 wishes (made 5823 handmade cards & sent 331 other items; per WUAH: Hero 5474X & Card Hero 1809X). 50 states. 12 countries (plus FPO & APO).
* NICE: A great idea. Has connected folks in new ways. I joined http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WUAHCAFE/ -- folks have great time getting to know one another & working on wishes. On WUAH, one learns about many interesting groups & projects to make the world a better place. I've seen great kindnesses on WUAH.
* FUNNY: Folks post, "as many of you know" (site stats show 40,000+ users each month). When people forget to include name (impersonal to send a card "Hi nameless").
* SUGGESTIONS: Include dates (anniversary/birthday/etc.) (helps folks know whether they should offer). Please include gender & age (child). Reply in a timely manner.
* HOPES: Wishers will pay it forward. Nice when numbers weighted in favor of Hero. You can do it! Wishers will thank, individually, people when offered item is received (my experience: only 10% of wishers do). Complete the loop.
As we all do, I wish for world peace & for all to have peace of mind.
