About Me

My name is Amanda and I am 27 years old. I am not sure what you would like to know about me so forgive me if this is long. If I left anything out that you would like to know, please go ahead and ask. I am open to answering most questions :)!

I love to read and I also enjoy writing. I spend a lot of time in my apartment with my cat Sundae doing that or watching TV. I don't get out much because I have many physical and mental disabilities (such as autism, bipolar, anxiety disorders, arthritis, fibromyaliga, and quite a few others).

When I am up to it, I enjoy painting ceramic and wood projects. I love spending time with my mom; one of our favorite things to do together is to go to different thrift stores in our area. Recently, thanks to a program called IRIS, my sister and nephew have been taking me to a lot of different places as well. I now am able to go to museums, parks, arcade places once a year and bowling once in a while.

It may sound silly, but even doing these things once or twice a month is a huge deal for me so I am very proud of myself. Whenever it is too difficult or stressful to do them however, I have a bunch of board games I got from thrift stores to play.

I enjoy most types of board games, especially if they are Disney editions. My favorites right now are probably Disney's Toy Story 3 Monopoly JR and Disney Sorry. I love playing Scattagories as well because it helps challenge my mind. I usually am able to play these with my sister and nephew or with a friend that I found through the IRIS program.

My progress is slow and not always steady, but I am doing good considering all I have against me in life. Basically, my goals are to help others when possible, learn to be okay with myself, to have fun, and live life as best as I can with what I have where I am!
