Hi WUAH friends/heroes!
I'm a 60 year old grandmommy, I work with emotionally, mentally and physically challenged teens and have done so since 1984. All together, I've had 76 teens in my home helping them learn ways to handle their disabilities. No, they've not ALL been in my home at once lol! I thrive in helping others and this seems to be my path. I hope I've been able to help some of them, if not all. Currently I have two 14-year-old boys here - no boredom for now!
12/20/10 UPDATE: The 14-year-olds were able to return to their homes in time for Christmas! They worked hard and their families worked hard to make this happen. So proud of them!
UPDATE: 10/3/2011 - tWO teenage girls now :). We are getting through the drama of growing up and working together to assure their successful returns to their homes.
I have three grown children of my own, and ten grandchildren! Love them all :).
I am thankful for my blessings. I am sure not rich but I do have a home and food and family. I read the wishes every day and am saddened by the state of affairs of our country. I try to help someone a little each month when I get my disability check. I wish I could do more.
