About Me

Our love extends to all animals and we will help any being in distress if we can. However, our focus is on the tens of thousands of cats and kittens that live miserably on the streets or end up being put to death in shelters every year. We are a grassroots, all-volunteer, organization dedicated to saving as many homeless, abandoned, or persecuted cats and kittens as we possibly can by either adopting them into loving homes or by implementing TNR (trap/neuter/return) to prevent more unwanted births in feral colonies.

Los Angeles has a huge feral cat population and thousands upon thousands of cats and kittens deemed feral by Los Angeles City and County shelters are euthanized every year. Along with those unfortunate kitties, are thousands more unweaned kittens that the shelters are forced to euthanize unless a rescue bails them out. The sad fact is they simply do not have the resources to care for them.

Save A Kitty is based in Acton, just outside Los Angeles where our rescued foster kitties enjoy the freedom of large indoor and totally enclosed outdoor habitats while awaiting to find their forever homes. With the help of foster volunteers, we are often able to care for more kitties, especially during kitten season. We have a few special needs kitties that have medical or behavioral problems and they will remain in our care forever. Some of these kitties require expensive medical treatment and we are always in need of sponsors to help us with them.
