I am a single mom of a beautiful teenage daughter with asthma.

Under contract to Dell Puzzle Magazines since 1984,I created and constructed over 50 different pencil puzzles and word games for them, also tested work of other constructors. My biography was in "Who's Who of American Women" for 4 years as one of the top puzzle creators in the U.S. My kids used to joke that they got into "Who's Who" without having to do anything!

I never made a lot of money, but I was home with my kids. I lost 95% of my job in 2008 when it was phased out, no child support from the alcoholic father states away, no unemployment as I was self-employed... then two years ago this month lost my beautiful little 5 acre farm that I owned.

We have moved 4 times since then.
My teenaged daughter and I, with help here from some very special angels, now have a room of our own in my oldest daughter's barn. It is so nice after a year of sleeping on the living room floor.

Looking for a way to begin again; much more difficult having turned 60 with bad feet and an arthritic left hand. But I haven't given up, I am frantically searching for the light in this long tunnel.

I am working in a training program through NCOA. I work only 20 hours at minimum wage and am not allowed to have any other type of employment, but $125 a week is better than NO $$. (Hours were cut in May and work is now only 15 hours a week.) It won't do much to change our homeless status, but since working with these dear people at the respite center, I am reminded there are sadder things in this world than losing my home. They help keep my hardships in perspective.

I love to help here in any way that I am able.

Prayers for all those in need, sincere gratitude to all who care enough to help.

big hugs to all who stopped by - Debi
