Some Help for my Dark Thoughts

I haven't been on in quite a while. I enjoyed helping when I could. But now I am looking for help.

Last year in March my husband and I seperated because of his drinking. I moved back home to try our marriage again and be with my daughter (I moved into a hotel couldn't take her with me) in May. After 2 weeks I realized I made a mistake but stayed for my daughter. Things haven't gotten a little worse since. When I was suppose to be bed with pneumia my husband came home drunk and started an arguement with me. During the course of the fight (so to speak) a coffee table got broken.

I don't have the money to get a divorce right now or even money to survive if i move in with a friend (my daughter will be coming).

On December 5th, 2011 I thought I would just end my life and even had it planned out. I just couldn;t take it anymore. I called the suicide hotline and spoke to them for over an hour after which I felt better. I feel lost but keep a smile on my face for work and my daughter.

I don't know where to turn and I am hoping an angel is willing to be my friend and maybe just talk to me. I woke up this morning and the thoughts are back and with Christmas coming no money and not sure what my husband will do next I have no one to turn to other than my one friend and they are going to school full time and I feel like a burden to them.

My wish is just for someone to help whether it be a piece of mail saying its a great day or money to help me get my daughter moved or I don't know a new friend would be great.

    I am so sorry to hear what you and your child are going through. My best friend was in a similar situation, husband was an abusive alcoholic. She finally left him and found a wonderful man who treats her and her children like gold. Please, for your daughter's sake, seek some kind of help for your mental status. I hope you find the peace you are looking for very soon. I can be your friend to talk to or send I can send letters. Send me your address.

    I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through. I went through something similar with my ex husband. I got lucky and he left us (never to be heard from again) when I was pregnant with my 4 year old. I can send you a card. I'm going through a hard time right now also but I'm looking into getting a small loan so perhaps I can buy your daughter a few small gifts. How old is she? Send your address

I would like to say Thank you to everyone. Logging on here this morning really brightened my day. I feel I can handle whatever the day throws at me. It is a struggle I am talking to my church and attending every saturday night (they do a function for kids and adults). I just wish that I didn't feel this way. I am torn between keeping the family together which at times my daughter gets so mad at her dad or leaving then she gets mad at me. Yet at the age of 12 she is older than normal.

I am taking each day hour by hour and I have several support lines on speed dial in my phone when i need them. I actually made it through yesterday without calling one.

Thank you paulagh. I know its going to be rough and I am trying not just for me but my daughter. The final straw with the marriage was when he didn't care how sick I was. He still expected me to do the normal chores I do (firewood in house). I am just thankful right now for my two friends I have. One just called me and told me he is picking me and my daughter up for a couple of hours and getting us away from the house.

Thank you for taking the time to post and I will look into the woman's shelter. Unfortnately I make to much money for legal aid. I guys the 600 a month I make is to much.

Prayers for you and your daughter. Have you called social services to see what help they can give you if you move in with your friend with your daughter? You CAN get food stamps even if you are staying with someone else. You say you are working, so perhaps besides paying your own food you could give your friend a bit and not feel so much like a "burden". And perhaps you can sign up for subsidized housing so that you will not feel you have to stay with your friend indefinitely. I agree with paulagh, your local women's shelter can give you a lot of help or ideas. Blessings to you.

wow i can tell you YOU WILL GET THROUGH this, i know it's hard, scary, but you will make it. two things you can do to try and make it easier, one is contact the local womans shelter. i stayed in one for a few weeks til i could get things sorted out. and two they have a legal aid to contact that might help.. THREE TALK TO US. god bless.... many prayers.. from someone who has been there in every way..
