to bring our 6 yr old to Disneyland before she goes blind

My husband and I have 3 gorgeous little girls 6, 5 and 15 months. My husband is in the Army and we are currently stationed in Hawaii. We are still here for 2 or so more years and even though Hawaii is a beautiful place it is so far away from family... we found out a year ago that our 6yo has GHD (Growth Hormone Deficiency) and Septo Optic Dysplasia. We learned a week before Christmas that she is going blind. She is blind in her right eye and has very low vision in her left eye. Her pituitary gland is pushing up against her optic nerve in her left eye and they are considering doing surgery to lift it up and off to save her sight for a little bit longer. We have been told to prepare her and ourselves for her going blind and that it is likely that she will have no vision this time next year. We are trying to make as many memories as we can while she still has some of her sight left. We want to be able to fly back home so she can see family and always have those memories to carry with her for the rest of her life. Even though we are fortunate enough to have a steady paycheck it just isn't enough to fly 4 people and a baby back home. We want to be able to take her to Disneyland and experience all the wonders there are to see there. We are wanting to go as soon as school gets out at the end of May. We are going to be doing a bake sale to raise money for the trip back home also. We take such little things like having the ability of sight for granted and now that we as parents have a child that is losing that ability we don't know what we have. Our hearts are breaking every day knowing that she won't get to experience certain things but knowing that she once knew what her Mommy, Daddy, sisters and the rest of her family looked like makes my days a little easier.
We are looking for donations of any kind donated miles, money donations, advice on how to get discounts anything would help to help us get home this summer.

    My husband is blind. He went blind at age 10. I am giving this small donation because he would LOVE to have one more chance to "make memories" that included eyesight. He will never have that. I would love to be able to save your daughter's sight, but since no one can, I am helping to make one of her lasted "sighted" memories.

We cannot thank everyone enough for the generosity that has been shown to our family. We are so blessed to be able to take Cadence to Disneyland and give her as many memories as we can before she loses her sight completely. She is destined for GREAT things and GREAT things she will do!!!!!!

I wish I could help, but I will share your story in hope you get help. My husband was station at Schofiled Barracks from 2006 to end of 2010. I understand how it feels being so far away from family and having a sick child and then being sick myself. Gob bless youa and your family.
