Nathan was born on November 20th, 2008 with prune belly, a rare,
genetic, birth defect affecting about 1 in 40,000 births. On
October 25th 2010 he received a kidney transplant from an angel
donor and was doing so well a week later that he was released from
Children's Memorial Hospital. Twice a week he had to return for lab
work and check ups.
Months went by and then in March Nathan began showing signs of pain
and was rushed to the hospital. His kidney had twisted in his
small, little body and had lost blood flow. He underwent emergency
surgery and was checked the next day, still the kidney was showing
no signs of blood flow so had to be removed.
At this point, Nathan is on dialysis treatments while his friends
and family hope and pray that a new donor is found. Due to the
extreme wait times on the national transplant list, they hope to
find someone that is willing to be a living kidney donor for
Nathan, and offer him the gift of life. His donor must be healthy,
between the ages of 18-55 with either B or O blood types.
As I am sure you can imagine, this situation has placed both a
emotional and financial strain on both Nathan's parents and his two
older siblings.
This fundraiser is to help ease some of the financial burden
associated with Nathan's condition. Funds will go for various
expenses and covering the never-ending bills.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your kindness and
consideration. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact
us.
I wish you the best for your future,
Tina (Nathan's mom )
