My mother is 70 years old and has been diagnosed recently with Stage 3 Cancer. My mom lives in Mississippi and I live in Florida. She cant drive and lives in a rural area not close to many stores. She has been confined to her house since Dec. 15, 2011. Im stuck between a rock and hard place. If I move closer to her to help take care of her I will not have a job and will not be able to afford to pay for her Supplemental Insurance or her Medication. Ive done well so far in sending her supplies but the expenses are mounting and I cant afford the things she needs to stay in her home. She would like to die peacefully in her own home and Im doing all I can to see that this happens. She has two small dogs and many outside cats that she feeds. She needs pet supplies and house supplies like toliet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, Dish soap. Snacks. Books, Magazines Puzzles. Anything to help with her boredom. Even a bag of dog treats would make her day. She is alone except for me and its very hard for me to ask for help. I would like to go see my mom before she passes but if Im spending all my income on supplies and bills I cant afford the airfare or the time off work to go. Please help.
