For my boyfriend to get the books he needs for his college classes! NEED ASAP!

My boyfriend of three years is currently attending his second year at Chaffey Community College, and finally got the core classes he needs so that next year he can hopefully transfer out.

Due to financial issues, most of his first payment of financial aid has went to paying for a new engine for his car. He has been using mine to get to school and work, but I need my car as well.

I can't stand to see him struggle in his classes, and he needs the books to complete his homework assignments and to pass his tests. He is currently taking a test tonight with only the notes from his class, because he doesn't have the books he needs. He has been in school 3 weeks now with no books!!

If he fails these classes, or get a low grade on his reports, his financial aid will be completely cut off, as well as his GPA and college transcript will keep him from transferring to a 4 year college.

He is studying to be a music major at Chaffey, as he is a very talented musician, and would like to work towards a career in music, whether it be performing, or becoming a director for a school band. He is extremely passionate about it, but Chaffey only offers so much in those classes, and no degrees.

Please help me get him the books he needs. I don't want to see him fail a class because he just couldn't afford the books he needed.

Any donations or the books themselves help. Please help him so he can get the education he deserves. He is so hard working, right out of high school he jumped into a full-time job and a part-time to help his family pay for their house when his dad got laid off. He waited an entire year before going to school because he knew his family couldn't afford anything. Then he got laid off of his full-time, but his dad got work again.

We try to be helpful with resources and find you free stuff if we can.. Money is tight here at wuah as well :( seems we have more wishes from more hero's then we have hero's are able to help if any at all. :( hopefully soon your boyfriend's family will find employment and he will be able to go back to school and have his own money for books :( that is such a hard position to be in.

Thank you for all the help, he has looked up the books on eBay, as well as the library at school and our local library, but even then, with all the bills he has, like I said he pays his family's house payment, he can't afford. It I will check which book it is, but one on ebay is still $80, another $40, and I forgot the other two prices, but I will check again. He can't even afford to get the $40 one because of his bills, hence why I came here in hopes of finding a hero. We've tried all our resources, even trying to find others who used to have the class, but with no luck. We just can't afford those prices at the moment, even together. I'm sorry to bother the community, but we really are trying our best. :/

What is the total cost of the books? Did he check to see if these books were available used? My son attends Chaffey College to, he was able to find several of his books used
at a fraction of the price. Have him look online through the Chaffey site. If he can't locate the site, message me and will get it for you. Hope this help.

have him check with the library and see if they have any of his books there on reserve. I believe he can take them out for hours or maybe days im not sure how his school would do it, check on line for books the book stores are way too expensive, ask his dean of students if they have a book loan program, he is collecting financial aid so he should qualify.. I work for CCSF and we have alot of these services for our students and its' a community college as well. Also do some research of his book for potential hero's making the links available, check into renting books maybe he can do that. There are a ton of options on how to get books for the community college. My students have it down pat what they do and dont' do ! good luck to your boyfriend ..
