am a mom of 3. I have a girl who is 6, and twin boys who are 3. One
of the twins has a rare chromosome deletion (8p23.1 to be exact).
He has similarities of an autistic child, yet is different is other
ways as well. He cannot talk yet, has a severe learning delay
(evaluated at a 9 month old level), and also has several food
allergies. He has been in therapy since he was 15 months old, and
now attends a special needs preschool. Our family has been
struggling financially. My husband works two jobs that
unfortunately isn't enough. We, for some reason, did not qualify to
receive SSI for our son with special needs, but I'm told I should
keep applying anyway. Both our boys are in diapers still and our
grocery bill is HUGE because of the allergy issue. Our house is
currently in foreclosure, and I'm just trying to get any kind of
help that may be out there. I'm looking for help with diapers, they
use Pampers size 6 (one is allergic to the dye in other brands). I
am also looking for any kind of sensory related toys to help our
son with special needs. I found an awesome website from a parenting
magazine called bellybumboutique.com, but am not picky about where
the toys come from as long as they can help improve my sons sensory
issues. He has oral fixations, and is very skittish about soft,
gooey, or mushy textures which also limits his diet. He hand feeds
himself, but cannot and will not use utensils to eat with. I
appreciate any help provided. Thank you for taking the time to read
my wish.
