Hello,
I was recently laid off from work on 5/31/2012. Until that point I
was a fully self sufficient mother of two, working hard to provide
for my children. I was always able to make ends meet and was even
able to help others through this and other charitable sites. Now
the tables have turned and I could really use some assistance. I
have tried to work with my landlord in regards to my current
situation and have been told that I must come up with July's rent
in full or face a 30 day notice to vacate. This equates to $850. My
12 year old son is a special needs child with Autism. I would hate
to lose this house as it is one of the most affordable in this
area, and this would have negative consequences in that my son
desperately needs to continue to have familiar surroundings and
structure in place with his disability. I am confident I will find
another job as I have a long work history with a good work ethic, I
am just not finding this process to happen as fast as I would like
in today's job market. If rent assistance cannot be offered I will
humbly take any other assistance afforded such as electric and
water bill assistance, gas cards, restaurant and grocery store gift
cards, coupons, and mail to brighten up the day of my 11 year old
daughter and 12 year old son.
Thank you so much in advance for any help you can offer! All advice
is also most welcome.
