For Groceries to feed my family...really need some help!!!

I've literally written and deleted this wish several times these past few days but after exhausting all other avenues locally for help I don't know were else to turn.

I'm a single mother of two girls and my 1 yr. old grandson also lives with me. I'm very thankful to have a full time job but I don't make very much and have NO benefits including sick or personal days. So after missing days of work due to some personal family issues and having some medical problems myself, this took a huge dent out of my already tightly budgeted budget. I barely made the bills this month and I still owe a portion of my utility bills that I am also worried about because when I receive my next paycheck there won't be enough to pay them once I pay July's rent. I'm just not sure how I'll get back on track. I'd gladly work more hours but my job doesn't allow anyone to get over 40 hrs.

So with all that said, there is nothing for food, gas and a prescription that I have needed to fill. We are down to barely any groceries and I have no idea what I am going to feed my girls and my grandson this week.

Please if there are any heroes that could help I would be forever grateful.

Tokay...I never received a PM from you or I most definitely would have replied. I appreciate the link on Craigslist. I will have to look into that for sure. I do hope that I am back on track by the time they start that program up...it sure does look like a great thing they are doing though. I've just sent you a PM letting you know I never received one from you. Again thank you so much for bringing this to my attention :)

Magnolia..I appreciate your advice very much :) I have been to the food pantries, churches and the community action place in my area already, that is what I meant when I said that I've exhausted all other avenues locally. Unfortunately, they are suffering themselves from donations. As far as the utility bills..I paid a what I could on each of them after I paid my rent for June and got approval to pay the remainder along with the new bills but I am going to be in the very same situation after I pay July's rent and they won't extend it anymore.

As far as food try and get to a food bank or food pantry. They do not turn anyone away. At least you will have food. When your next utility bill comes in pay the months bill and a partial payment on the balance of this months bill. Speak to someone at the utility company first and get their okay. If approved send them a letter along with your check. I realize that we are all in a position that once we fall behind just one payment it's like being behing for 1 year. Good luck.
