for hermit crab supplies, if I don't get these they wont survive

Hey WUAH, here's the deal, my husband purchased me hermit crabs for my birthday without realizing how much care they need. I quickly fell in love with these little guys just like any other living thing. I thought I was giving them a great home until one passed away, I quickly did research and realized I was doing it all wrong. I know this is not a serious wish to some and it may seem foolish but it's extremely serious issue.

I realized they need multiple shells, because they like to change shells quiet often (if they don't like a shell they wont go in it), if there is no shells they can get stressed out and that can lead to death. They have to have shells.

Marine Salt, Crabs cannot drink or bathe in tap water, it's toxic to them and they can die from this.

Humidity & Temp monitor is a must have with Hermit crabs, if you don't have one and the Humidity level or temperature gets too high or low it can kill them.

Which leads to the Heat lamp and bulbs to keep the tank at the right degrees.

I've made an amazon wishlist, the things marked "Emergency" in the comment second of the WL are the things I need really soon. The other items are items I plan on buying when I get extra cash.

Also, if anyone has any used aquarium items like plastic plants, decorations or anything that would just as helpful.

It would mean so much to me if someone could help, I'm super attached to these little guys they are so social and therapeutic and I don't want to have to get rid of them, I want them to leave a happy life just like they should.

    I have hermit crabs too, and I have some extra supplies that I could send you. I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer, some food samples, and a small package of hermit crab soil (crabbies love to dig under this, plus it increases humidity!)

Thanks Brittasaur! I love these little guys to death they are full of so much life. I wont get the sponge, but I plan on getting the things they need and some play stuff wants I get some cash, the first thing I actually read was about the painted shells, my crabs will never be in them. I'll send you a picture of my tank so far :)

Oh and one more thing, a great site to get hermit crab supplies for cheap is hermitcrabaddictionstore.com. You can get plastic plants for $3.00, water dishes for $5.00, and a huge bag of food for $12.00

Also just so you know, the sea sponge really isn't needed. They are really high maint and grow bacteria easily. As long as you have two small shallow water dishes, and don't pour a lot of water in the dishes, then the hermies should be fine! Also Petco sells hermit crab saltwater and freshwater for around $8 each. This is really the only water I get because bottled water has a bunch of chemicals in it, as well as tap water. And I really don't trust dechlorinators because they seem to cause more harm than good.
Also please don't buy painted shells, as hermit crabs can eat the paint and get really sick. I also recommend that you try not to buy painted ceramic things, although even I'm guilty of this because my crabbies love their painted hermit crab house.
When setting lots of things up for them to climb on (which is there favorite thing to do) make sure there's nothing too sharp down below, as they can easily get injured and/or die. Also remember to calibrate the humidity gauge. =)
