Helping a Wounded Warrior and his family.

United States Army Sergeant Drew Mullee was injured in May 2012 in Afghanistan. While patrolling he came in contact with an IED, which resulted in him loosing is right leg and sustaining extensive tissue and muscle damage to his left leg. He was in Intensive Care in Afghanistan and in Germany for 7 days, before being transported to the United States to Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Drew is based at Fort Lewis Army base outside of Seattle, Washington where he lives with his wife Jennifer and their Labrador Retriever, Rylee. Jennifer was in Fort Lewis when she received the news of Drew’s injuries. When Drew arrived at Walter Reed Medical Center, Jennifer immediately traveled across the county to be at his side. Drew then remained in In-Patient Care in the hospital for the next 41 days with surgeries occurring every couple of days.
Jenn and Drew are from Northeastern Ohio, and had family drive their car and Rylee to the East Coast. There were several expenses as a result of that cross country trip that they needed to be paid out-of-pocket. It was not their choice that their lives would so quickly change and things would need to be taken care of regardless of the expense.
Though the Army is taking care of the medical expenses for Drew, there are many other expenses that are not covered and getting their car and dog over to the East Coast is one of many. If you could find it in your heart to assist a Wounded Warrior and his family to help cover these expenses, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and your generosity.

That was where my husband was sent to from Iraq also. We were not able to join him as we have so many children and had no place to stay. He stayed there for about 8 months at the WTB before they released him to come home. I am sorry to see you all go through this as it was very hard on our family as well and my husband only had spinal injuries. I would highly recommend staying in contact with Wounded Warriors through out this process as they have been a real blessing to us concerning paperwork and the VA claim process. And to the wife... The wounded warrior wives is great as well. I know this is tough and those 2 places may help with transitioning.
