My daughter Jazmyn's birthday is coming up, but a few weeks ago my
husband told her the bad news he won't be here for her birthday.
She has been stressing and worrying she will have a boring
birthday. My wish is for her to have the best birthday ever! We
have no family or relatives which makes it harder. We use to
celebrate the whole month of August for her birthday, but we are
struggling we just got paid, already broke.
The month of August is a hard month for us, my husband gets
deployed, my kids have 3 medical appointments out of state in NYC,
my oldest daughter will be starting college and I need to buy
college books for her. She is 16 and still in HS she doesn't
qualify for FAFSA. Two of my kids recent got orthodontic
appliances; and my oldest will be getting one as well end of month.
I have been using our out of state appointment money to pay for
Orthodontist each month which is also our food money. We have
Jazmyn's birthday and I still have to buy school clothes for my
kids. I have tried to reschedule medical appointments I don't have
the $150 for each visit in tolls, bridges, parking, gas, etc., but
not able to since we have rescheduled too many times already due to
no money. I keep telling Jaz not to worry.
Jaz likes birthday cards, she collects money and saves it, she also
collects coupons for her eating disorder she has. Jazmyn has severe
sensory integration disorder - food is a big issue she doesn't eat
much, but the one's she does I have to buy in cases per month. And
lately had to cut down since the prices keep going up or else find
coupons. She loves reading books to learn things and watching how
is made. This summer she has been reading the 2005 kids
Almanac!
When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she wants
Domino's gift certificates for breadsticks, coupons for her food, a
mattress for her bed, clothes, dinner at Jasmine's Oriental
restaurant in Medford, and toppings for dessert.
