My name is Valerie. I have a dear friend who I will call V. She is
such a loyal, loving, committed sister, aunt, grand daughter. V has
always sacrificed her needs for those of her family. In the past 5
years she has been taking care of her sick grand mother who is
bedridden, has to feed, changed etc. She hires someone during the
day while she is at work but she is there every weekend. A year ago
her only sister in her early 40s had a massive heart attack. She
remained in a vegetative state for 3 months before passing. During
these 3 months V went to the hospital every single day for hours.
She bathed her sister, washed her hair and continued the skin
regiment her sister. Her sister was beautiful and remained
beautiful because of the care V provided. Meanwhile, she'd go home
every night to again take care of grandmother and her sister's
teenage children, one who was a Senior in High School. V made sure
they went to school everyday and her nephew particpated in all the
senior activities. She even made sure he had a party for his
birthday. Now that her sister is gone she is the legal guardian for
her children and still care for her grandmother everyday. Now that
her sister is gone she is the legal guardian for her children and
still care for her grandmother with very few breaks. They live in a
small apartment, she is the sole provider for the household. I would
love for her to be able to take a vacation to anywhere she'd like
to be to get some much needed rest and relaxation, knowing someone
was taking care of her grandmother and niece and nephew. She and I
would greatly appreciate anything anyone is willing to do for this
family. V is definitely the 2nd most selfless person I know and she
deserves some happiness.
