Help with school supplies/clothing for 5 year old son

Granted by Heroes: K9ResQ
My husband will be getting out of the military in October due to a service connected medical issue. We will be moving to my hometown and our son will be starting Kindergarten then. With moving expenses, rent, and other household bills I just don't know how we are going to make ends meet to get him started off on the right foot for school. We have to wait months before the disability payments kick in for my husband and the money will be tight until then. I would love for him to be able to get excited about starting school and getting all set up. He is already so nervous about moving from the only home he ever knew and the changes involved with his dad's disability. I just want him to have something exciting just for him! Thanks so much for reading and any help considered. God bless everyone!

I know this is not the help that you are asking for but I did want to give you a little hope. My husband was Medically discharged in 2009. We immediately went and filed for SS under the Wounded Warrior project. They told us that they had a 60 day dead line to get everything approved. Also they will pay you back from 6 months after the point in which the military decided that he became disable. For my husband he was put on light duty in October of 2008 and was discharged the last week of November of 2009. We actually got approved and paid from May of 2009 and it was right at 2 months. I think it was the first week of Feb. 2010 just in time for our 2nd child to be born. If you need any advice please message me and I have tons of resources. Also check out www.operationfirstresponse.com (they may be able to help).
