I have 4 boys ages 7, 15, 16, & 19. I am disabled with a lot of
health issues but my depression has prevented me from doing things
with & for them. Marital & family issues also occurred
which resulted in breaking contact with my family for awhile for
the healing process. My boys have spent the last 5 months at home
keeping themselves company & only spending time with their
cousins when playing Video games live on the internet. We attended
our family reunion before this occurred & they have not
attended any birthday parties or sleep overs as well. One son has
been newly diagnosed with Major Depression & other issues that
have been effected greatly by this but having his birthday pass
with no calls & only a few cards had set him on to a slope that
caused him to act out upon himself. This also had an effect on my
own depression & other issues that caused me to stay in the
hospital for 5 days for treatment.
Their Birthdays are 6/27, 9/16, 9/27, & 10/16. They only
received a couple of cards each. My oldest was a Senior but there
was a mix up & he was unable to walk with his class & we
didn't get his diploma in time to have a party during the summer.
After speaking with our Dr.s & Therapists we were told it would
be best if we had a combined celebration of all four Birthdays
& a Graduation Ceremony where my Father would present the
Diploma to my son. This would allow them to receive cards, which
they love & visit with family & friends of the family,
which is the most important thing. The invitations will state that
gifts are not expected, it is fellowship & love that is
appreciated & it will be a luncheonette after church service.
This will also allow me to start the healing process between the
family members that I have had to break off contact with. I am
disabled & my husband does work but we really need help with
buying what is needed for this celebration. We need help with food,
utensils, & decorations. I will list the items in comments
& other info.
