Christmas Help For Our Two Children ages 4 and 13

My family is having a really hard time this year. My husband is Active Duty Military, and we were stationed in Honolulu. It took 8 months to get our Home rented out. So, this year we have been paying a mortgage and rent for our home on our new base. Our home finally rented out, but now we are playing catch up on everything we had to let slide from month to month to keep our children fed. We have two Children a boy whom is 4, and our Daughter who will turn 13 this December. Because of the Hardship Christmas for our Children is not looking very promising. Our Son is asking for anything that has to do with SuperHeros, Mickey Mouse, or Jake and the Neverland Pirates, He also loves to play Dress up. Our Daughter loves skinny Jeans, Clothes, Shoes, Gift cards, Make up, Hair stuff, any and everything that teenage girls love. I missed the deadline for Heros at Home and I am not sure of any other programs that will help. So I am reaching out hoping that someone can help us give our kids a decent christmas this year. For all of you who have taken the time to look at our wish I would like to say thank you, and for those of you who make wishes come true thank you and god bless.

I know Operation Homefront here in Georgia will help at Christmas no matter the deployment status so I would think Hawaii might be that way. Because there are not as many troops deploying as there were before, they are moving their focus to all active duty. I'm not sure if the ACS there does anything. Both here in Georgia and in Texas the duty station did a Christmas program. I would check with your FRG leader or ACS themselves to see if they do.

Thanks Krissyo I will check out Operation Homefront, and see if they can offer any assistance from what I have read they help families with deployed spouses my husband isnt deployed right now. And thank you for helping to explain My BAH I do recieve it but it only covers one house We owned a home in Charleston and just got it rented out in September. So we were paying our Bah for our house here and our home mortgage was coming out of our small paychecks for nearly 9 months.

Sorry about that explaination. For some reason my post came through hours after I initially posted it. But keep an eye on Operation Homefront. They are a wonderful organization.

Mia- It sounds like they own their own home and couldn't get it rented out before they moved to Hawaii. Since they need somewhere to live there, they had both a mortage (in the states) and rent (in Hawaii) that their BAH wouldn't cover.

Brandy- The Operation Homefront Hawaii Facebook page said they have not done their toy registration yet and to keep checking back to see when they start it. That may be an option for you. I'll keep your wish favorited for now to see if you get any help before Thanksgiving.

Even though we get BAH it isnt ours it goes directly to cover our housing.. So to clairify yes we recieve BAH but we dont see it it goes to our housing community. So out of my husbands basic pay we have had to pay for a mortgage on our home in charleston 1200.00 thats almost an entire paycheck for him. Thank you all for the provided information I will look into Those opitions.

I just want to clairify that yes we do recieve BAH as we are active duty However we have a home in Charleston SC that we have been having to pay a mortgage on. Thankfully our home rented out last month so now we are only paying for our current Base housing. Thank you for all the information I will look into it all. God Bless.

Thanks everyone we get bah but with a mortgage too we were having to pay for two homes. Thankful our home rented out last month now all we have to worry about is our bah here. However we are still extremely behind because of this.

Try applying at www.adusa.com/famneeds.htm Its only for active duty military and their dependents. You ask for your needs, they assign you a #, and publish it on their site. If someone sponsors you, the site puts you in email contact.

It's odd that you're paying rent while stationed since BAH is ALWAYS given to Active Duty Enlisted families.
Hope you get your heroes...
