Hello. I came across your page while frantically searching the
internet for some type of an answer to the question "What do I do
now?" I am a (2) dog owner. I recently put one dog to sleep after
all efforts to prolong her life failed. With in a week I was asked
to rescue another one. As you know new dogs and all that they
require, especially being a rescue, can be quite expensive,
however, that is not the reason I reach out to you now. I have a
black lab mix who is approximately 3 years old. She has been with
us since she was a puppy. Stella, that's her name, has been
diagnosed as having a grade 3 luxating patella. The vet says it
will cost around $800.00 and I simply do not have that kind of
money. I have set up a chip in (fund raiser application) and posted
endlessly on Facebook. I am no where near what I need. I can not in
good conscience, allow her to remain as she is without the surgery.
I may be forced to let my pet go to someone who could help her, but
I don't want it to have to come to that. I am begging you for any
assistance or even other resources that I may try. ThePetFund.com
says that they can not help me because this is considered a URGENT
matter as if it is not fixed it has the probability to damage her
other legs due to the way this injury is making her walk.
Thank you for your time.
