Sadie needs a hero, she was hit by a vehicle last night.

Last night I let my dog out for her last trip outside to use the bathroom before bed. I connected her leash to her collar as per usual and shut the door. This has worked for 11 months so I thought nothing of it. 15 minutes later I heard a thud from outside and went outside to check on her and there she was standing at the base of the stairs, but she wasn't attached to her leash. So I called out to her to have her come inside, but when she went to come up the stairs she collapsed on them trying to get up. I rushed to help her and noticed she was favoring her rear leg. I got her inside, got her comfortable as I could and assessed her injury the best I could. Massive swelling in her leg lead me to believe that she probably had a broken leg. Today I woke up, called her vet and took her in. Around 5:00 p.m. today I heard from the vet that she has a fracture in her thigh bone, but more than that the end of that bone is shattered. The surgery is going to be $1200.00 - $1400.00 and thats without the cost of the x-rays and meds, etc. My wife and I are due to have a baby in a month and cannot afford a $2000.00 vet bill. If there is anyone that can help our family get Sadie home, PLEASE I'm begging you contact me, I am running out of places to turn. Thank you for your time in reading this.

Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart for your contributions and support. My family and I are extremely happy for all the support and can't tell you how happy we are knowing Sadie is home.

Sadie is back home and in surprisingly high spirits for a dog that officially had her femur shattered into 9 pieces. She is on a variety of pain and preventive medication. The next 10-14 days will be critical to her healing process. The entire bill totaled out to $1809.00 With the $525 we have from this website, we've taken a large chunk out of the total. We could still use more, but this is a great step in the right direction. Thank you all again for your donations and support. So sorry about your dog. Just a suggestion: If you ask your vet if they can kindly take call in payments and then List the name & number to the vet, people may be more apt to donate something if they can call directly into the vet. Good Luck
