Bowen is currently failing the third grade because he is unable to
learn the same way as other children. He has never gotten to go to
recess, can't eat with other children and is stuck on a point
system in his class. I am trying to find a way to get an iPad for
Bowen so Bowen can communicate with his teachers and learn how to
use social skills on an iPad. iPads are miracles for children that
are Autistic. Bowen is a very slow learner and becomes easily
frustrated. He is unable to bathe himself or tie his shoes, but he
was able to connect with an iPad at Best Buy. The main explanation
is that autistic children know what to expect when they tap or
slide on the iPad, but he cannot anticipate human expressions and
reactions, which frustrates him. Even things like drawing are
easier on the iPad, because pencils and crayons are difficult for
autistic children to handle. Please help my son so he can learn in
his own way.
