to visit family before deployment

Hi,
My name is ashley Back. My husband is a marine, and we are stationed at Camp Lejeune NC. My husband just returned from Iraq in October and is scheduled to leave for his third deployment(to Afghan.)in May.He is given time off (pre deployment leave)to see and say goodbye to his family which starts on April 3rd. We would really like to be able to go home to Ohio so he can see his family, however we are struggling, and having a hard time financially right now.It is a 750 mile trip home and takes up to 13-14 hrs to get there. Because of the length of the trip and having a baby we have to do a lay over and get a hotel half way there.Between gas, food and a hotel on the way there and back our estimated total for the trip to and from is about $400.00.Any kind of help would be more than greatly appreciated. We are asking for gas cards more than anything.However any help, even in the smallest amount would help us out a ton. Please e mail me for any more information. We are really hoping to be able to go home so he can see his family before he leaves for his 8 month deployment. Thank you SO much.

    Is there any ways I can help. I am retired army, our of Ft. Bragg, NC. It is a great thing that you and your husband sacrafice for what everyone takes for granted, the freedoms to do.......

    I have been in the middle east for the past 3 years myself, Kuwait, Afghanistan and now Iraq, but I will probably be back in Afghanistan here soon. I hope that things are ok with you and your family. I am not sure if I can get my sister on the ball fast enough for you and your family to travel there and back, isnt there a faster means of transportation for you all to go there to see your family? (FLY), if so can you look into that for me and I think that I can help you with that, how much do you have saved now to go there and back? I think that I can search and get you a good deal on a ticket if your willing to fly, how old is your child, some flight children under 2 ride for free. Well I think this would be better but you would have to supply me with the information soon. Again I am in Iraq, so I will be doing all this from SKYPE and on the net.

We just want to thank EVERYONE for everything. weather it be your amazing help to us or even just your thoughts and prayers. We had a wonderful time at home and just returned back yeasterday. Everyone was so over joyed to have us back and visit with us. Our son Enjoyed every second with his grandparents as well. We cant thank everyone enough. It really would not have been possible with out you. May God bless you.

My fiancee is a retired Navy man, he served over 20 years so I know, if nothing else, a simple word of thanks for the service to keep us free is invaluebale.

I know the feeling. My brother is in the Army and I was in the National Guard. I can't help financially, however I do have some information that may help. I have heard that you can check with flights on base to see if they have any flights to Ohio. I believe that soldiers and their families can fly for free or at a discount rate. Check with a Chaplain on base, they may be able to help. I hope this info helps. God Bless.
