My daughter, Brit, is a fantastic kid. She is active in our youth
program at our church, gets straight A's, and always helps other
children in need when they ask for it and she can do something
about it. She is always willing to help, and even helped me around
the house when I got surgery for cancer. She is an amazing kid, who
loves to help people. Well, now she has something that she is
wanting to do, and with money being so tight, we are not able to
fill her wish.
We are trying to raise money for my daughter to go to a program
this summer- to Joseph Baldwin Academy in Missouri. She gets to
spend three weeks as a college freshman based on her MAP scores,
and she is only 12! She scored in the top 5% of the U.S., and boy
this opportunity is once in a lifetime for her. The link to the
college is below if you would like to see information.
If you could also pass it around your work and family and friends,
that would be great. Brit's tuition for her going to this academy
is almost 1500 dollars, and that doesn't include her books or
spending money while she is there. I don't want her to miss this
opportunity, as it will look fantastic on her college apps when she
graduates high school.
We are not asking for one person to donate the whole amount, we are
merely asking people to donate what they can. Even a Wal-Mart gift
card for her to use while she is at the program, in case she needs
personal items! Anything helps, little amounts add up fast! We were
approved for a $450 scholarship through the school, and we have
raised $300 through a rummage sale.
She will be gone for her birthday if she gets to go, so we would
also like to ask for cards to be sent to her when she is up there,
so she gets tons for her birthday. I will provide an address for
her when she gets to the program, and you guys can send her cards
there if you would like.

I have gotten the first half of the payment in. Now all we are working on is the 520 for the second half. Thanks to everyone who has already helped, and those of you who will help in the future. Please everyone, help me get my daughter to this program!

I also recieved another 2 dollars on my paypal, not sure why that isn't showing on how much donations we have recieved so far. It should state "This wish has recieved 122 dollars in donations."

For those of you who look at my daughter's site, it is wrong too as to how much we have raised. As I stated, I was wrong in the totaling, and I am very sorry about that. I cannot change the site right now, as I do not have the money right this second to pay homestead for my membership, or I would. I wanted to explain that for you guys too. Again, sorry about the mix-up. :(

I was wrong in the totaling when I did my wish, as we only had 200 from sponsors & Rummage sale.. If you would like me to explain it further, I will be more than happy to do that. The balance I have is 735, which is what we would need for the total tuition. Hope this helps, and does not confuse you more, I am sorry about the totaling, I just looked at my bank account and figured it up with MO WUAH chapter last night. BUT, anything helps! If I come up short, I am still working hard around my town to find sponsors, and have one couple from my church who has promised to help, but has not yet given me an amount they are going to sponsor her for, nor given me a payment. When I get that, I will update that same day.

It looks like there is $750.00 left to raise "We were approved for a $450 scholarship through the school, and we have raised $300 through a rummage sale and sponsors"
If I am reading this correctly there's $750.00 left to raise and $115.00 already collected in the wish so we are still in need of $635.00 for the tuition.
Is that where we are? I want to make sure I have the correct goal in mind as I start working on this in an effort to try to help.

That was my wish. I reposted the wish after not getting any responses from the other one. That is what the Missouri Chapter of WUAH told me to do. Thanks for the suggestion though! :)

I think there is another child on WUAH saving to go to this same school. I remember reading about it. If you could find the wish, maybe you could arrange for your families to meet up? It sounds like a great educational opportunity.

Wow, thank you guys so much! I appreciate all the wishes and the donations! We are very proud of her. I told her when she grows up she is going to buy Mom and Dad a mansion! LOL

Wow, that is great--she must be super smart! (I bet she could beat me at Trivial Pursuit. LOL) I hope that folks who have a few extra dollars to spare will come forward and help you guys out...I'm sorry I can't, myself...but tell her that there are many people here on WUAH who are proud for her and wish her the very best! Maybe she'll grow up and become a great doctor and discover a cure for cancer--the sky's the limit! :)
