I WISH for help w/ Hotel Expenses to SHRINERS HOSPITAL

Each year we need to travel to Philadelphia SHRINERS HOSPITAL from Florida for my son. I have never had to ask for any help getting there before this year but as like so many others,we've stretched each dollar very thin just to get by.The local BAHIA SHRINERS here in Orlando has so very graciously accepted to sponsor our travels with enough money that should cover a rental car & gas,my car is far too old to make that trip this year,and since my youngest son needs to travel with us as well,flying was not the best option for everyone involved.We are so VERY,VERY BLESSED for having the local sponsorship of Shriners.I will be packing a cooler for meals and drinks but we are desperately still in need of funds for our hotel stays. I have sold a few items that will help a bit.I will need to stop once in each direction to break-up the driving hours.I am a single mom traveling with two young children so we can't make the drive straight thru.I will also need 2 nights while we are there.

A few weeks back,my mom was in and out of the hospital and I relied on faith & prayers to see her through and yes,indeed, with the help of WUAH cards & prayers, my mom is feeling better and prepared for Kidney dialysis to begin soon.It was heartbreaking to not be able to be with her.With everything else going on,I wasn't sure how I would ever be able to take my son to see his doctor so when Shriners agreed to help we just fell to our knees yet once again with thanks to God!

If anyone can help in ANY WAY to ease the costs of our hotel expenses our prayers will be with you always.I'm not sure if hotels offer gift cards maybe someone has a free night voucher or discounted coupon I could use.If anyone has a gas card,I can then apply some of the Shriners funds to the hotel instead of the gas costs.I have a Paypal account that I have listed but certainly anything you can do is greatly appreciated.PRAYERS are ALWAYS our strength.Please don't foget us in your prayers.Blessings to you always!

    I have spoken to Pat and Pat will be donating 3 of the 4 nights needed. Could some heroes pull together and grant her the one other night that is needed or $70 - $100 to pay for that night. Thanks!

    i sent you a private message but wanted to let people on here know i didnt mean to sound mean or anything like that on here. My experience with shriners was like 17 and 18 years ago and i k now with economy and all things change. i was just concerned that hotel or i should say whether they helped with that. shriners is a wonderful organization and i wouldnt bash them for anything or people who go to a facility that they have. i understnad bout being a single mom and on one trip to the shriners hospital i became quite sick and so couldnt go into the hospital and the mean took my son in and got his care and even sent a nurse out to check on me. i was by the way pregnant and they brought me crackers and pop and made sure i too was feeling good. i appreciate there help so much. I sure hope you can forgive me for any misunderstanding. I agree too that WUAh has some pretty special heroes on here. they too are a great bunch of people.

    ...that is the reason why we accepted funds for a rental car & gas instead. I hope that clarifies any questions. Certainly I have sought resources on my end prior to making this wish and asking for any help from my fellow WUAH Community. Thank you again to everyone for your help, concerns & prayers!     BMJ48: The local Shriners organization has been more that accommodating to my family! They were willing to pay for the airfare for myself and son and reimburse for any meals we had in the hospital cafeteria PLUS offered to reimburse for RMH stay. I am a single mom however - have another younger son that I can't leave him at home nor pay to fly him with us. In addition, as noted in my earlier remarks, the RMH only allows stays for children actually admitted into the hospitals now due to high demand for their facilities. Thanks for your comments & concerns. Without Shriners we wouldn't be able to go at all and they have certainly worked very diligently with us to enable us to travel. I am VERY BLESSED for their help & would NEVER dismiss what they HAVE done.
