For A Football/Cheerleading Hero

Granted by Heroes: Panther2kate
I posted this wish quite a while ago, but it got lost among all the other wishes which I completely understand (I know times are tough). But now with time running out I am hopeing and praying that I can find someone to help me out. As a single mom I have always prided myself on being able to keep my children involved in their activitives even while going it alone. This year though I just am not going to be able to do it. I lost my job back in Nov. Thankfully I was able to find a new one right away, however I had to take a pay cut. Which was fine as less money was still by far better than no money especially with the holidays right around the corner.I intenitally set aside the money I would need for their registration out of my tax return. Then at the beginging of march our puppy got sick (poisioning from a flea shampoo)she will be fine, but her $1200 vet bill completely wiped me out. I have put away all the extra money I could and sold some of my daughters old baby stuff plus my kids have helped neighbors clean their yards, had a small bake sale with what we had in the house, and have collected bottles from family but we are still about $150 short of the $415 needed to register the 3 of them on May 2. I have asked my faimly and no one is in the place right now to help me out. We have even been trying the sponser route with no luck.I know I listed this as a want because for me truly it is, however for my kids I honestly feel this is a need. Football not only helps to keep them out of trouble, help build their confidence, and teach them responsibility but it also gives them the postive male interaction they so desire. Please if anyone can help me out I would be forever greatful. I really do not want to have to tell them they just can't play this year especially after they have worked so hard to earn the money to play. Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my wish. And I hope that everyone finds their hero.
God Bless!

I donated $10.00 to get you started on this last leg of your journey. I am a single mom with 2 teenage boys. We live in Michigan also!!
Sometimes it's the outside influences that keep them in the routine they need. good luck and God Bless!
now you just need 140 more heroes to give a dollar!
Don't give up ! do they take payments for registration?

skyaha I am trying everything I can think of to come up with the money. However with registration less then a week a way I'm still quite short. I'm not at all sure I'm going to be able to pull it off, but I'm not giving up hope yet!

Do what ever you can to keep him involved in sports. I know it saved my son's life and kept him out of trouble. He is now on his way to Wayne State University on a scholorship. He had it rough, but powered through and his love for football kept him going. I wish I would do something to help.

I have talked to a few of the coachs. Infact my sons coach is my neighbor. However with them doing away with the payment plan this year many many many of the coaches themselves are in the same boat saving and scraping together just so all there kids can play.

I'd talk to the coaches and let them know your situation. I used to be a business mngr for a pop-warner team and they are able to help out a few kids as hardship cases with registration fees and such. This year my fiance is helping with another youth football program and the coaches are pretty understanding and are usually willing to pitch in if needed. Hope you get the help you need.

slw123 Thats what I have done the past years. And my poor daughter Always gets left out. And now that she is old enough I promised her that she could do cheer. She has sooo been looking forward to it and counting down the years until she was old enough. Plus even if I did only sign the boys up football is a 6-7 day a week thing that starts in july and ends in november so there is just no way I would be able to get her into anything else for quite some time.

Would it be possible to put just one or two of them in the sports program? Then you could promise the other something special for them in the summer. Just trying to think outside of the box. Best wishes.

I have four kids that I had to keep from sports the past couple of years due to me taking care of my mom then my husband lost his job,so I know what you are going through. I think sports for our kids are a need also. I will see what I can do,if I can I will let you know as soon as I can. I hope you get the help you need, sports are expensive especially when you have more than one kid playing. (I have 4)

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I'm really do hope I don't have to pull the out this year. My oldest son has been suffering from so terrible depression and his doctor really feels that getting him back into the swing off football will help him out! I'm just plum out of ideas on how to raise any extra money and with only two weeks left to do so it's really beginging to stress me out ugh..
