I WISH for desperate help to get son to Mayo Clinic for treatment

As most of you know, my son Steven has a very rare disease called Klippel Tranauney Syndrome (KTS). Due to it being so rare he has to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN ( which is a 13.5 hour drive straight through from here). He has test and apts booked covering a span of 5-6 days there during the first week of August. Our government will cover the cost of the doctors time, tests and treatment. (which I am grateful for.

I have to come up with all of the other expenses including gas (350.00), food (300.00), lodging (700.00), 2 car tires (240.00 as 2 tires are completely bald and it is to dangerous to try drive there with them). There is also a cash deposit of approx 4000.00 USD which is required upon arrival (because of being a non US resident).


We have been able to raise 3494.12 USD. We are still in need of 2095.88. That is the very least we will need. If we have to stay longer or have any troubles, it will cost alot more.

I am desperately seeking help from my WUAH family. Being a single mom there is no way I can do this on my own. Without help, Steven will not get the proper medical care and treatment that every child deserves and should have a right to.

I have sent documentation to WUAH for validation of this wish.

The Mayo has told me that there is a Ronald McDonald house but it is used for cancer patients and there is another house but it is first come first serve so they advised me to book a hotel for a week to begin with.

We will be driving there as the plane tickets are way too expensive and then we also wont need to pay cab fare etc to get back and forth to the hospital each day.

    I’m very new here and love this site. I noted that there were several hundred views but very little donations.

    I know times are so tough for everyone but I believe there are more Hero’s in here then what has been offered.

    This may kick my butt on finances for my electric and grocery bill but I believe this wish can come true.

    I am marking this wish as granted even though it was not completed. Steven and I want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the help you have given us to get him to the Mayo Clinic. We still do not have quite enough funds yet an only 3 weeks until we leave home. But somehow or another I am going to make sure he gets there and gets the medicare care he needs. I will try an update all before we leave at months end. You kindness means so much to us. I will certainly be paying it forward once we are back and I am able to. God Bless

    We are still in need of 320 dollars to get Steven to the Mayo Clinic. We have exhausted all avenues, done a bake sale, bottle drive, meat sale and a few other things as well as much help from out WUAH family. We have 5270 in the special bank trust account. If anyone has any ideas as to how we could come up with the rest, please PM me. We really need some help to get this finished. We leave for the Mayo on August 2.

    Update: My computer crashed and I think I have it working ok for now (its old!) I recieved an anonymous letter in the mail which included $50 for the trust fund. With that and the generous donation from Mommyluvsyou, we are now down to $482.00 still needed. It also knocks down to needing another 36.00 in order for the Walk On Heros to donate 100.00. Again I would like to thank everyone who has helped us thus far. We are getting so close to getting Steven the medical help he needs and deserves. God Bless.
