I WISH Help for a Child with Cancer

I am the principal of Thomas Paine International Elementary School. I am writing on behalf of a child and family in my school. About six weeks ago, Grace, a second grader, was diagnosed with cancer. She is responding well to treatment, and we eagerly await the day when she can return to school healthy and strong. She has at least two years of chemotherapy ahead of her. As you can imagine, the treatment is expensive. Even all the trips in and out of the city to the doctors and treatment centers would put a strain on a typical family's budget. To make things worse, her father was laid off just weeks before she was diagnosed. I am writing to try to take the financial strain off the family. They are wonderful, loving parents whose little Grace is suffering, and nothing else matters right now. It would be so nice to take finacial worry off their very full plate. Thanks.

Please help in two ways.
1. Pray for Grace and her family. They are people of faith and will appreciate your prayers.

  Tears fall as I read this. I am a mom of a 7 year old who is Specially Abled and has had over 40 surgeries/procedures. My daughter suffers everyday and there is nothing I can do about it. I'm helpless. I think it is so awesome what your doing for this family. Our family doesn't have much but for this family we can at least spare a few dollars. Please keep us updated on her progress.

  Mr Paine, I recently had a huge Disney wish granted for my son and I. I have stage 4 colon cancer and wanted to take him while I still could. I will send a card and a few other items to you once we return from Disney on the 4th. I have also sent your wish for Grace to a friend that sells custom made greeting cards. She plans to help any chance she gets. Also, a very close friend had recently passed from cancer and over 30 of her friends have received your wish as well. I have already received emails stating they will send you cards from all over the state of Indiana.
  
  Once I return from Disney, it will be time for me to Pay It Forward, and I plan to continue that until my time is done. I know quite a few executives from Mattel Toys and plan to pass toys donated by them out to child in the cancer wings of Childrens Hospitals in Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Indy.
  
  I respect you for taking the time to care some much about a student. That tells me you are the true hero when it comes to granting this wish.
  
  BTW...I plan to put the biggest smile on her face you may ever see with what I send her from Disney.

  Team Wish has raise $1000 for this child with cancer. The Foundation donated $100, the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and the Connecticut Chapter donated $100, the Walk on Heroes Program donated $100 as well as a $100 from the Team Wish fund. Massachusetts donated $65, Tennessee and Mississippi both donated $50. We even had a Pay it Forward winner (nannieto7) on Sunday nights WishTV who wanted to send this wish $50. The Missouri Chapter donated $140 to make it to $1000 mark. Good job Heroes!

  My family will keep her in our prayers every day. My sister is a buddhist as well, and in her temple, on a certain holiday, you write a person's name on a paper that you put inside a balloon and send it off to the heavens, where the wish will be found. My sister will be doing this as well.
