GRANTED!

Wish Granted by: brandoninjapan soundtek Aug 22, 2009

I WISH I could raise $2,000 to assist my sister with the adoption of Ellie Mirta from Ethiopia.

Ellie Mirta -- She was given up twice by the age of two first by her mother and later by an uncle. Neither were heartless choices, but acts of survival.

But, no explanation can replace the comfort of family or fill the heart of a lonely child. Sadness, insecurity and fear began to inhabit where laughter and carefree joy should abide in the spirit of this precious girl.

And so she waited. She wondered. She hoped.

The Hubbards -- Allan, Savannah, Noah, Jonah, Elijah and Ezekiel are a family that isnt perfect, but passionate; isnt wealthy, but rich; isnt assuming, but thankful.

Their lives are committed, prayerful and active. But their family wasnt complete.

And so they waited. They wondered. They hoped.

My sister, Savannah, and her husband, Allan, received word Friday, May 29, that their request to adopt Ellie Mirta, 3, was approved in the high court in Ethiopia. They left Wednesday, June 24, for a ten-day trip to bring home this precious girl.

Their biggest challenge in this process has not been to respond to the needs of Ellie, but to do so while facing the barrier of the financial requirements. The total cost for adoption fees, document preparation, home study, airfare, travel, attorney fees, etc. is almost $25,000. Thats a huge sum for their humble family!

A small number of people have come to them with unsolicited gifts and my parents have loaned monies to get them this far.

Then, just last week, Lifesong for Orphans awarded them a $2,000 Adoption Matching Grant to help with the adoption. To get this assistance, all donations must be received by Lifesong by Aug. 14, 2009.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation -- any amount will help. Your generosity will be doubled through this gift! Give directly at www.lifesongfororphans.org . Please reference Hubbard #880 Adoption. My sister will not receive the funds without this notation.

Thank you for making a huge difference in the life of precious, little

Wendy from Spread Change told me about your situation, and suggested people donate money they would otherwise spend on a day's coffee. How can I donate my coffee money?

Brandon -- thank you so much!! You can go to www.lifesongfororphans.org and donate online through PayPal. Please reference Hubbard #880 Adoption. This ensures that my sister will be credited with the donation. Also, there is a ChipIn widget on the Spread Change blog that you can click on to donate. Thank you so much for helping us. I am very grateful.

Oh, thank you for that info! I'm sure my sis knows all about that...her hubby is on top of stuff like that. But, I'll pass that on just to be sure. Really appreciate you sharing the knowledge. God bless!

Dont forget that your sister will be able to get the 10 thousand dollar adoption tax credit. Many people take out loans knowing that they will be able to get this credit. Also. many employers do offer adoption help.

I am so excited for your family's new addition. I know God will provide the funds needed at the right time. I wish Icould help. We are on our way to Ethiopia on August 18th to do mission work there. Please read our profile. I will keep your family's needs of financial support in our prayers. They are giving a home to one of God's littlest angels.

Thank you for your feedback, Donna. We're doing all we know how to try to help fund the adoption. And we know that God will provide. Thank you for your prayers.

I will keep this family in my prayers. have you considered fundraisers? You may want to check out adoption.com. Many members there would be happy to share how they financed their adoptions. If Gods will is that this child is meant to be their then the finances will come if you trust Him. He will meet our EVERY need.
    Blessings
