I am reaching out to the WUAH family on behalf of a friend of my
father. A situation arose a week ago and she is now caring for 6 of
her nieces and nephews. They were basically abandoned by their
parents and lost their home as well due to it being condemned.
Pretty much everything they own is still in the house which means
they have nothing to start school with on the 31st. Five of the six
need clothes, basic hygiene items, and school supplies. These poor
children have nothing and my father asked me to go through the
wonderful people on this site to see what we can do to help this
family.
This friend of my dad is a wonderful woman but there is only so
much so can afford to do besides the immense task of taking them in
and caring for them. It would be such a weight lifted off of her
shoulders if we could get some things together for them.
The children are as follows:
Brianna is 16, Heather is 14, Nathan is 12, Samuel is 11, and Naomi
is 7. The oldest is 18 and graduated last year. I'm sorry I do not
have exact sizes but this woman gave me her best guesses which are
posted below.
Brianna - size 16-18
Heather - size small to medium shirts and 3-4 pants
Nathan - large shirts 16-18 pants
Samuel - medium shirts and 12-14 pants
Naomi - 8-10
They also need everything as far as school supplies and I do know
that Heather needs a TI-189 or 190 calculator for school.
Everything from backpacks to pencils and everything in between.
I know that this woman would really appreciate any help she can get
so these kids do not have to go without the basic necessities. I
drove an hour one way this morning to talk to her to see what she
needs for them and the situation has her a little stressed out. If
anyone can send used clothing, school supplies, gift cards or just
donate to help them get what they need it would mean so much to
them. I would like to get as much together as possible during this
week so they can have it for school. Thank you in advance.
