GRANTED!

Wish Granted by: nataliesnana pezcmw03 amandafl pburkham 46sko Sep 21, 2009

I WISH I could afford a helmet for my blind dog

My Dachsund went blind suddenly a while back. The vet said it was aquired macular degeneration. It is permanate. I have been working with her trying to teach her one word voice commands so when I see that she is about to bump into something I can say "Bump" and she stops and finds her way around the obstical. (That is the best command I've taught her so far.) But when I am not looking or when I'm not fast enough she will bump into something hard enough to make her yip. I have found a training helmet, that will teach her where things are. There are big whiskers on it. The problem is I can't afford to pay the whole price by myself. I am on a fixed income. The Helmet costs $89.00 plus some change (On line price) I can pay a maybe half of that but would sure appreciate a little help with the other half. Stretch & I would appreciate so much if you would help so she doesn't bang her her poor little head We, That is Stretch and, I do appreciate your time reading our wish.
God Bless ya all
Deb

Myguy, I have not heard of such a rule. Maybe I have been out of the loop a little bit to long. Is this a new rule?
But I do know that another member cannot make a wish on the behalf of another WUAH member.

The WA is not able to help me because I am also a WA and it is against the rules for 1 WA to help another WA

  • QuietAngels verified member icon 2 months ago

We understand a WA is trying to help get this for you and hopes to have an answer very soon. If she is not able to get this donated, we will give you the last $20 you need to get half covered. We will wait and make an official offer if needed. Sincerely, Quiet Angels

nataliesnana: I'm a WA also, But I didn't think I should make a wish and contact people myself for me. I want to thank you for what you are trying to do for me.

  • nataliesnana verified member icon 2 months ago

I am in the process of contacting companies as a WA

  • myguybones55 verified member icon 2 months ago

I'll go look at that site, I have it in my saved places,
Thank you for going to the trouble of looking one up for me.

Aww.. Im sorry to hear about your dog. What website is it that you are looking at? I found one for $69.95

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts and hopes, and to those who are donating too. I thought I would say real quick, that If I get more donations than I ask for, I will either get a nicer helmet, or use the excess money to help other WUAH members. More likely the later, because stretch doesn't need a top of the line helmet, but others on this site do need things.
