I WISH for angels of all kinds for our family's

2 years ago, I gave birth to twins...the happiest yet scariest days of my life...see, they were born at 23 weeks gestation...17 weeks early. One of my twins passed away at 2 days old, his surviving twin has many disabilities: hearing loss, developmentally delayed, eye problems, muscle issues, doesn't eat, talk, or walk and chronic lung disease. On top of all this, we have 6 other children who miss their brother Nick terribly. We started last year by putting up an "angel tree" so that they would have something for Nick for Christmas...and that he would be closer to us (in a way). It also was good for them that they felt people cared about Kenny and Nick and were thinking of them.

This year, we will be taking the tree to the NICU where Kenny and Nick were born!

We are asking for angel ornaments of all kinds to put on our tree. This has been a very hard 2 years and it would give us something to look forward too. Thank you for you caring and thoughtfulness! It will give the parents of all the preemies and micropreemies that will be spending their holidays in the NICU, something to give them hope...that people from all over are thinking of them. I will be putting pictures of the tree up on our blog, closer to the holidays...

Again we would love for the tree to be filled with all different angel ornaments...something wonderful for the parents, siblings, doctors and nurses to see in the lobby of the NICU!!!! Thank you soooo much for your help!

  Prior to reading your ad I didn't think the NICU would even have a Christmas tree, I am going to find my glass angel ornaments and would like to share a couple of them with you. Please let me know where to send them.

  IF A HANDMADE ANGEL ORNAMENT BY A 7 YEAR OLD WILL BE OK. I CAN DO THIS. HE THINKS HE AN ARTIST SO HE IS ALWAYS MAKING ME THINGS. I CAN HAVE HIM MAKE BY THIS WEEKEND IF THAT HELPS.

  this kinda of reminds me of my cousins story she had twins that early one twin was only 9oz and the other twin was 3lbs with no problems the 9oz twin survived for 14 years and she had a ton of problems and wound up passing last year...anyway send me your info and we would love to send you an angel

  My daughter (wisher - payitforward) just gave birth to twins (boy and a girl) on October 27th, 13 weeks early. She just recently told me about this site and forwarded your wish to me. We know what your family went through while the babies were in the NICU. I hadn't thought about a Christmas tree in the NICU, didn't even know if that would be allowed, but after reading your wish I would like to share the glass angel ornaments I have with you and the tree in my grandbabies NICU.
  
  My prayers go out to you and your family. I will start going through my Christmas boxes to find the angels this weekend, please send me an address as to where to send them.

  I just gave birth to twins at 27 weeks gestation and they are fighting hard. I know how hard these times are especially coming into the holidays. I would love to send a few angels from my family. Send me the address and I will get those out asap.

  I am saddened by your story and currently have a wish posted for my kids to have a christmas also. But I will gladly spend the few dollars for an ornament. I have twins myself,now 8 and had alot of difficulties when they were infants, so I know what your going thru there. Also 21 years ago, Dec 26th 1988 I lost my first son at the age of 3 weeks to SIDS, so I would love to donate an ANGEL in memory of our angels we lost.   I think this is wonderful as the mother of 4 preemies. 2 of which had nicu stays i always wondered how i could show my appreciation and gratitude for what they did for my babies. I could never think of anything that seemed appropriate. This gave me some really good ideas. thank you for posting this. I wish i could help you out.
