I WISH For Help with a Hotel Room and Gas Cards as my daughter has Brain Surgery out of town

My daughter Juleigh will have brain surgery on December 9. We live in a small town and will need to drive over an hour to the hospital in Charlotte, NC. Her surgeon has recommended that we stay in a hotel the night before her surgery because of her condition she has severe nausea when first waking and the driving will worsen that condition. Also we need a hotel to stay close to her during after the surgery. Her dad and I plan stay by her side until she comes home but we know we need a place for naps and showers. I wish to have at least 3 to 5 nights of a hotel bill paid so we stay close to our teen daughter. Also we could really use some gas cards to help with the the gas expenses. I wish for a hero to help pay for hotel bills, and donate gas cards for any amount. Juleigh has Chiari Malformation and will have a radical decompression surgery. She will also have an angiogram and coils placed in her artery that is restricted. Thanks for being a hero, thanks for prayers.

    Thanks again so much to Therese, Walk on Foundation and the Embassy Suites in Charlotte. Being able to have the special family time the night before her surgery and a great place to stay for our family to stay close to Juleigh will indeed help her heal. She has 3 brothers in college and one sister and knowing they can be there with her during this time means so much to us all. We can't wait to be on the other side of this trial so we can help others here on WUAH. I am so blessed to have found special friends through this site that will last a life time.

    Jgiblert, if you're going to Carolinas, they have a free place for you to stay. Call the nursing staff at Levine's, explain the situation, and they will get you what you need.
    Our best friends son was treated there, and they will take care of the family's needs too. Also, they are part of the St. Jude network, so they will not ask for money.
    I will pray for your daughter and your family. I hope you find a hero!

    Trying to answer all questions since I am so far behind, sorry, so many appointments. Yes, this is Juleigh's first Chiari surgery. It took her doctors 2 years to realize her Chiari was the main problem. Due to indention in her head and other issues they were deteremined she had some form of bone cancer or a brain tumor. So far neither have been found, praise the Lord! However Chiari Malformation is bad enough and no cure. We have been warned this surgery is only a huge "bandaid" but we have faith that Juleigh will have a great quaity of life after just one surgery.

    Thanks, the myspace page was set up by a friend who is 24 so I guess to set the page up they had to use their birthday to be legal. In the blog and info it tells Juleigh's age. Juleigh will be at the Carolina's Medical Center main campus at 1000 Blythe Blvd. Great children's hospital the Mcdonald house is not complete.

    Is this her first surgery for Chiari? I pray she comes through the surgery great and never has to have the surgery again.

    There is a McDonald's house being built in Charlotte but, it is not ready yet.
