I WISH for gift cards for groceries. We lost all our food from the bad windstorm

Hi I am wishing for some gift cards to be able to go get groceries Our power was out since last Sunday afternoon until last night. From Hurricane Ike we had a bad windstorm in Cincinnati and I applied for emergency assistance but they told me it would take 10-14 days before they would know anything and that they had thousands of applicants. So anyways I am in need of help getting some food if anyone can help we would be so greatful its just me and my 3 kids. Thanks I will see if I can find a youtube video of the storm. Thanks for reading my kids would eat me out of the house if I let them.

  Where in Cincinnati are you? I live in Fairfield Township & have a little bit of stuff in my freezer & pantry (ground beef & veggies). I don't have much...actually need to figure out how to buy milk but will share with you. Do you have kids?

  Thanks momof5inOhio I know its a mess here. I appreciate you keeping me in your prayers. gabritton thanks for info but I dont own I rent and dont have any insurance. I am hoping the emergency assistance will come thru but that could be two weeks before I even know if they will. Its very frustrating I am already in a mess with all my bills and now this

  If you have homeowners/renters insurance check over your ploicy and contact them because they will mostlikely reimburse you for anything you lost in the FREEZER. We have ALL STATE Insurance and we had a bad storm almost 2 yrs ago here just out of Seattle and were without power for 9 days with one storm then another one came and it was out for 3 days(only days after we got it back the first time) and our insurance covered everything we lost in the freezer. We had just gotten 1/2 side of beef and lots of Salmon& other fish from a fishing trip. I cried when we had to throw it all away but our insurance covered all of it. It really is worth looking into if you have it.
