I WISH Apnea monitor

as many know our 3 month old son has been in the hospital since Dec. 9th in PICU and is still here. this am they are doing a CT scan to see if they can pinpoint the cause of his continued abdominal pain, diarrhea, projectile vomiting, fevers,dehydration and tachycardia. they are trying to rule out abscess, appendicitis, colitis amongst the diagnoses. during this period he has had major issues with tachycardia, bradycardia and a couple apniac episodes. since it isn't due to respiratory issues his insurance refuses to cover it so i will be on my own once we go home in monitoring his heart, oxygen, etc. the monitor i did have that did this died about 3 weeks ago (it is over 5 yrs old). it would be a true Godsend in caring for Christopher and alerting us to major crisis.     dear quiet one,
    i'm sorry to read that your son and your family is being challenged so greatly.
    i hope and pray that soon, christopher will return home a good deal healthier. the other night, there was a MYSTERY DIAGNOSIS (on the discovery heath channel) that had a toddler with the same symptoms as you describe christopher suffers with. i cannot remember what the diagnosis was called. i wish my memory was clearer... the boy's system was actually giving out the wrong signals and fighting against itself. i should go google. i can't imagine having my child in such scary health circumstances. please know that many here have you in their hearts and prayers... i am so happy the monitor is being provided to you. xoxo

    i want to thank everybody for their generosity, caring and prayers for Christopher and our family. he had another crisis the last 30 hours with high fever, diarrhea, projectile vomiting, tachycardia and bradycardia. the doctors have him back on 3 iv antibiotics and are awaiting labs due back today to totally rule out ischemic colitis. Christopher sure has kept us on a long rollercoaster ride and is so full of surprises. i would love to be able to get our big monitor fixed as it tells it all but the generous offers here for the monitor will be a total blessing and true lifesaver for Christopher. thank you ALL heros.
