I WISH SNOW in Los Angeles for Christms

I am the single parent to two boys on the autism spectrum. I am originally from NJ and have wonderful memories of sledding and playing in the snow.

My kids have never had that experience. My 12 year old would like to touch snow and play in it. We cannot handle going to places like Big Bear due to the long distance driving and my fear of freeways plus our old Minivan would not make it.

The 12 year old has been depressed due to not seeing his elementary school friends as I am now homeschooling him for safety reasons and to make sure no bullying occurs. He recently started having tics and twitches with his body moving about and hurting his stomach. In order for a tic to be Tourette's Syndrome it needs to occur for a 12 month period and I hope he does not endure this for that length of time.

I would love to see the look on his face to see half of our front lawn filled with Insta-Snow during the Christmas Holiday vacation. I think my nonverbal son would love the sensory experience and maybe the feral cats would have fun.

Amazon sells a container for $24.95 that makes two gallons. I would need several of these to have a portion of the front lawn covered to have a white christmas in Los Angeles.

  Me neither. My kids had a snow day at school on Tuesday. The school had 10 tons of snow brought in for them to have fun in. Boy 10 tons is not as much snow as I thought it would be.

  Yes I remember seeing that on tv but would never drive to that area due to violence.

  Hey we got rain in Sunny So Cal, now if the temp would drop about 12 degrees we'd get snow. Do you remember that one year it snowed in Watts and South Central LA?

  I love this! I voted for you! We need to wish for a semi with a freezer...you could come and scoop all the snow out of my yard..we just got 6 inches and are expecting more!
