I WISH for food for my family

Update- 1/6/2009- We were able to come up with the money for Gas and Electric. My husband ended up getting an advance on his pay this week to cover what we needed for the bill. Now we have no money in our checking account and no pay check this week, and really need some food. We have three children living with us 11,9, and 3. We are still waiting to hear from our food stamp department and need help desprately. Thank you for everyone who has kept our family in their prayers. I hope we are able to get back on our feet when all of this is over and I go back to work Sometime when it rains it pours.

Update 1/03/2009- We were told that before we can switch the gas and electric overwe needed to make another payment of $281 to our gas and elecrtic account. We scheduled to have the gas and electric shut off at our appartment on Monday 1/05/2009 but need to pay to have it turned on in the new appartment on Monday. I tryed to apply for HEAP but because it is not a shut of notice they can not help. We have young kids and can not go with out gas and electric. I really need to find a few heros to help me. I have made a number of complaints to my landlord about repairs to our appartment, yet nothing ever got fixed so we made the repairs ourselves. Well I guess he got sick of us calling because last week we were served with eviction papers claiming we are breaking our lease. This morning we had court and he went on to tell the judge we had cats and dogs (which we do not have) In October we asked him if we could replace the carpet in the kichen and told us to go ahead. He even brought us tile. The problem was it was not enough.

  I have tryed local and non local food pantrys, i have called to find out the status of our food stamp case but they told me things are taking longer because of the amount of people applying. my church only does the angel food packages, but gave me a list of places to try, which i have. everyone is waiting for grants and donations.

  We got the rent taken care of now, we need to make a deposit on the gas and electric. seems opsticals are always in our way,

  We have been working at finding an appartment. We got a call this morning about a three bedroom which we really need. We need to come up with $650. We have until the first to come up with the money. This will cover 1st month and half the deposit. I need a lot of hero's to help grant this very big wish.

  We called our code enforcment and they did a check and told us there was nothing wrong.bathroom toilet runs unless you shut the water off, mold growing in our livingroom closet, and our fire exit is blocked, but they did not see anything The list could go on. wish we had money to move months ago.

  Thank you so much, I will try that. But we have decided that it is more of a hassal doing the work someone else should be going, and for him to lie in court, I would rather not do business with someone like that.

  I wish I had something I could say to help you feel better.Also wish I had something to give right now,but like many-I'm tapped out.I'm going to mark this as a favorite.Maybe I can do something to help you with something nice for your new place.Again I am sorry this happened to you and I know that doesn't help much,but I will keep you in prayer for a good outcome in spite of your user/loser of a land lord.You have nothing really to lose at this point,is it possible to have someone from the media in to show the poor conditions your landlord allows to exist in the property that makes him money?Maybe you can keep him from renting out to someone else and making money off of some other hard working family-at least until he spends some money to fix up the place.You don't sound from your writing that you are vindictive and believe me this isn't spiteful-it's just fair.God Bless you and your family,Mary

  The only suggestions I have is to call Pre-Paid legal and tell them about your case and how it went. They may charge a $26 a month fee but may work with you about it. What pre-paid legal does is they have many many lawyers who will write out what was done wrong to you and what you can do about it and send it to the people who wronged you and if that doesn't change their mind they will even go to court for you if need be. IT is a well worth it service for $26 a month and if anything else ever comes up where you were wronged you can call them and you have hundreds or thousands of lawyers awaiting your call. It could be the difference of you losing your apartment right now or owning it or just not losing it at all. Here's a number, I hope it helps....(240) 308-0638.
