Christmas Preparation for Children in the Hospital and their Family

As an experienced mom that had a child in the hospital during holiday's, I want to try and make a difference in some other parents lives! I am trying to prepare a half way descent Christmas (if you can call it that) for families who have a child in the hospital this Christmas Season.

It may take me a few months to try and pull things together so I wanted to try and get a head start. I have a project in mind for the children already but am putting together 2 dozen packages for the parents as well.

My idea is to do a stocking for "mom & dad" with "mom & dad" embroidered on the sock and filled with goodies. One of the items that I would like to place in the sock is a gift card of some sort - either a Wal-Mart/department store or maybe a Restaurant gift card for the "Parents" to get away from the hospital for a bit.

I need 24 gift cards so I really need the help to pull this off. As an example - 24 gift cards at $20 each on the low side will run $480 for the cards alone - I would appreciate any help I can get to make this happen.

If anyone has any connections to a retail establishment that could donate anything or any fundraising ideas for this goal - I would appreciate it!

we are doing fundraiser to help get my son a service dog. So far we have had one at Texas Roadhouse and Top That Pizza. just in 2 events we have raised $630.00 call Texas Road house and ask if they would do an event. We made flyers and passed them out and everyone who went in and said they were supporting us or had a flyer 10 percent of their bill went towards our event. Hope this helps

I have tried all the stores around here and got rejected from every one, so I was hoping there was someone that might have a connection some where and couple help me out. Thank you so much!

Great wish! I hope you get many heroes! You should try asking around at local businesses to see if they will donate 1 or 2 gift cards each. And maybe a bigger business such as Target or Walmart would donate a larger number of cards...I wish you good luck!!!
