I WISH I could afford to fix the bad leak in my roof!

There is a very signifigant leak in my roof that happens to be above the ceiling of my little girl's bedroom. Because of the damaged roof, water seeps through her ceiling destroying the ceiling as well as the wall. The wall actually drips! I have had to turn off the electricity in that room as well because of fire hazard. Every time it snows/rains, it gets worse. I am worried about a cave in of that part of the roof.
At this point this site is my last hope for some help. My husband works full time and I am at home with the kids. We have a 14 year old, a 7 year old (her room has the leak) and an infant. We live in a house that my parents own, and my father has lost his job of over 16 years. My mother almost 60 and is the only one working to keep them afloat. Because of our somewhat unique situation we do not qualify for help elsewhere. I have tried for more than a month. I have been all over town for help to no avail. I presently have a grant application open with www.ModestNeeds.org (I am including a link to my specific application)...it's been open for 3 weeks with no doner help at all. I am afraid it will not get funded. Please contact me if anyone can help us, or if you know of someone or an agency who can. Thanks so much!!

  I want to let everyone know that the "modest needs" link is no longer clickable, as I have removed my grant application with them.....It's amazing that within about a 2 week period, I joind WUAH, posted my wish, granted a couple wishes AND had my BIIIIG wish granted! All this was done in less time than it took my family to get "prequalified" on ModestNeeds.org...Amazing!!

  klr181~I am so sorry...I was not able to be online today due to an unforseen family situation. In addition I will not be online because I now now need to be out of town for most of tomorrow. However, I have spoken to Cyndi. I have now read your comments.....I just went through the "certification" process. I also emailed admin. with my pictures and estimate....Thanks for all your help!!!!!! I am also sending this message via email...

  Can you please go contact Administration or Security and fax in your certification info. I believe they just ask for a bill in your name and a valid ID. This will get you certified and get a quicker response. admin@wishuponahero.com. Also maybe if you sent them in an estimate for repairs or pictures that would help also. I do see that your Modest Needs app says that all was verified so that is a big help. Thanks. Will keep you posted on my end.

  From talking with ckgan it appears it would cost between $375 - $400 to do this.
  I am going to see if there is any way we can get' this wish featured. Inyourshoes2 could you post a paypal address, that way Heroes could donate you the funds and we can get Cyndi's husband out there to complete this for you.

  Liz, I have made some contacts and some Wish Ambassadors are working on getting together the supplies needed. Walk On Heroes program will continue to work with them and other resources to see what we can accomplish together.
